| This section has one simple purpose: to answer the questions that I get asked most frequently -- those questions having to do with trading/copying music. If you're reading this section it's either because you clicked on it from the main page of the site, or I sent the link to you in response to some type of music request. I hope the following policies will answer any questions you might have about CD Sales, CDR trades, MP3 Requests, etc. Thanks! |

I.  None Of The Discs Listed In The CD Catalog Are For Sale.
The purpose of the online synthpop database is to give other music collectors an idea of what a particular release looks like, the track listing, and the timing details. I did not undertake the catalogging process to try and sell any of the discs in my private collection. There has never been an exception to this policy. I simply do not sell any of my discs. I know many people think they can "make me an offer I can't refuse" -- but trust me, I can ;) II.  I Do Not Make CD-R And/Or MP3 Copies Of Any Of Music. This probably surprises a lot of people. But, I have a number of reasons for this policy. First, and probably foremost, I have a serious time constraint. Gone are the college days of staying up until 3:00 in the morning making "mix tapes" for people. I have a job that demands about 50 hours a week, balanced with a social life. I simply don't have the time to make copies of songs/CDs for people. As I've told many requesters in the past, it's sometimes a struggle just to keep the site updated each week. It's nothing personal. I get at least 20 requests a week for CD-R trades/requests, and I have to say "no" to everyone. The worst part of being the webmaster of this site is when people won't take "no" for an answer. Please know, there are no exceptions! Secondly, I do believe in the idea that artists deserve revenue from their CD sales. It never ceases to amaze me how many people ask me to copy discs that are easily still available. Some people actually write me with, "I know I can get this off Amazon for $15, but can you just record it for me until I have a chance to buy it?" Ummmm, no. Support the arists you enjoy! I have never been an advocate of piracy, and never will be. I know those "greedy corporate record company exec bastards" get most of the revenue, but until that changes (and it is changing), I feel more comfortable buying whatever is available, rather than copying it. Again, this might surprise a lot of people, but I've only downloaded a handful of MP3 files in my life. I'd much rather have an original. Finally, and I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I think people have just become lazy. Maybe it's because I'm both a music fan AND a music collector, but half the fun in collecting is pouring through used CD stores, scrolling through online lists, bidding for items on eBay, or buying a "Goldmine" magazine and making some calls to dealers. When someone emails me and asks, "can you copy all the old Camouflage CD singles for me?", it kind of ticks me off. I can understand wanting a copy of that "one elusive release", but to just expect someone to fill your collection with items they've spent years tracking down seems presumptuous. Maybe that's just my hang-up from years of neck strain, digging through boxes of CDs hoping to find buried treasure ;) As most of the visitors to the site will tell you, I am more than happy to help people find items they're looking for online, give them links to resources to purchase items, and generally help in any way I can. If you see something in the synthpop database that you'd like a copy of, don't hesitate to email me. I can usually track something down for you. It may not be as cheap as a CD-R copy, but you will at least have the option of getting your hands on it. downloads name scenes date name scenes galleries main boobs
